Weather & the Water Cycle

  1.  weather – what the air is like at a certain time and place
  2.  atmosphere - a blanket of gases and tiny bits of dust that surround Earth 
  3. temperature - a measure of how hot or cold something is
  4. precipitation - water that falls to the ground from the atmosphere 
  5.  wind – the natural movement of air
  6. air pressure – the weight of air pressing down on Earth 
  7.  cloud – a collection of tiny water drops or ice crystals in the air
  8. water cycle – the way water continuously moves between Earth’s surface and the atmosphere
  9. evaporation – the changing of a liquid to a gas
  10.  water vapor – water in the form of a gas
  11.  condensation – the changing of a gas to a liquid
