Kindergarten

2024-2025 Theme - Endure

"...and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith..." Hebrews 12:1-3

Welcome to kindergarten.  Here at St. John's Lutheran School, we offer a Christ-centered half-day or full-day program that fosters the development of the total child. Our well-equipped classroom, up-to-date curriculum, and low student-to-teacher ratio provide a positive learning environment for our students.

Arrival

Your child should hang their backpack on a hook in the hall. It is very helpful for messages to the teacher to be written in a short note.  Arrival each day can be a bit hectic when all of our energetic children run into the room with a story to tell. There is a black basket on the help right inside the classroom that you can drop any correspondence. A short goodbye and quick exit is the best way to help your child adjust to the departure.

End of the Day

Class dismisses at 3:45 each day. It is very important that both teacher and child know where they are going at the end of the day. If your pick-up arrangements change, please drop me a note so that I'm informed of where or with who your child is released to. The children will be instructed to get their backpacks and then return to the classroom. This routine helps us distribute any information that needs to go home as well as monitor who each child will be released to.  Kindergarten children will be dismissed through the front doors on Kewaunee Street.  You may wait for your child in the hallway but please be cognizant of noise levels outside the classrooms across from us.

Favorite Bible Verse:  I have had God's help to this very day.  Acts 26:22

Mission Statement:  My mission as an educator is to actively engage my students in Christ-centered learning experiences that promote a joy of discovery, a love of learning, and the confidence to achieve their fullest potential. I will incorporate a variety of resources and teaching strategies that address my student's individual needs and learning styles. Throughout our busy week, the children will grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially.
